Critique Group
The ORA Critique Group meets the same day as the monthly meeting at 9:30 a.m., and is open to anyone who wishes to have their work read and reviewed by peers. The goal is to help other writers perfect their craft, which hinges upon informing the writer what is working in their writing and what needs improvement. While criticism is welcome, we understand that writing is personal and individual tastes are subjective, therefore we have a zero-tolerance policy on mean-spirited comments and remarks.
Anyone wishing to participate in critique group is encouraged to bring 10-15 copies of 5-10 pages from a work in progress. Sharing is not mandatory for attending critique group. At ORA, we recognize that the writing process differs for everyone, and a writer might learn as much from providing and listening to feedback given on others’ work as sharing their own.
If you are interested in joining smaller critique groups (comprised of approximately 4 authors) that meet more frequently, please submit your information here.
