Carolyn learned storytelling from her mother and started writing down both family stories and "made-up" tales when she was twelve. She worked with the Callaway County Public Library's local history and genealogy collection for more than thirty years and developed a deep love and respect for the human stories buried in old records.
After publishing a dozen books of local and family history, she has recently turned her attention to history of a more personal nature: a memoir of her childhood. Snakes in the Kitchen will be published June of 2016. Carolyn has also written a romantic mystery, an often neglected WIP for the past eleven years. She hopes to get it published before it's old enough to vote.
